Overview
Built in 1986, The Terraces sits proudly atop the two main hills that adorn Mustique. It has unparalleled spectacular panoramic views of its own 17-acre plot, the island surrounding it, both the Caribbean and Atlantic coasts, and the Grenadines beyond.
Faithfully designed in the style of 16th-century Italy’s famed architect Andrea Palladio by Tom Wilson, The Terraces is built entirely of masonry to withstand the elements. Broad terraces surround both floors of the entire house, controlling the climate and providing additional living space. The classic temple façade and absolute symmetry are characteristic of the Palladian systems of design and proportion.
The villa features several hand-painted ceilings by the artist Jean-Claude Adenin, whom the original owners first met in the south of France. The job took him the better part of three years. Adenin came to Mustique to take measurements, then returned to his studio in France where he painted the scenes on canvas before returning back to Mustique with the paintings in tow. He then painstaking applied the canvases to the ceilings before completing the artistic decoration.
The Terraces is the largest villa in Mustique, with 9 Master suites and addition guest rooms on request, two swimming pools and entertaining spaces, terraces and verandas to capture every light and suit every occasion. With an exceptional hospitality team, a building dedicated to games, additional guest rooms on request, and the largest entertaining space on Mustique, this is a villa for the few, to welcome the many.
