Overview

The Castle, first built in 1750 and completely renovated in 2000 is a vibrant place. It has been home for one of Austria's noble families since the 1800's. All rooms offer all the comforts of modern living seamlessly incorporated into the original furnishings. Eight double rooms and one single are complemented by color coordinated salons and bathrooms and there is plenty of space for children to play. Each room in the castle is unique and of exquisite quality where meticulous attention has been given to every detail.
Although a stone's throw from Salzburg, the castle is surrounded by rolling hills and snow capped mountains — even the Emperor of Austria fell under the spell of the glorious landscape of the Salzkammergut region and chose it as one of his favorite summer holiday destinations. A mere 5 km from the castle, the Attersee — Austria's largest lake — waits to be discovered. Although Lake Attersee cannot be seen from the castle, its presence can be felt. In fact, the entire Salzkammergut region is tangible here: a spirit of recuperation and cultural richness presides — far removed from urban pomp. Indeed, even the crunch of the gravel as you stroll along the path through the park sounds somehow more relaxed here.
In addition to its natural beauty, the area also offers an abundance of cultural events and activities. Experience intimate concerts in local village churches or attend the world-famous Salzburg Music Festival.
