Overview

Château Margui is a hidden gem, nestled in the hills of the Var region in Provence and surrounded by vineyards and magnificent forest with century old trees and conifers. The historic Domain, which dates back to the Roman era, originally produced wheat, olive oil, wine, fruits and vegetables thanks to the irrigation from the property’s natural springs. Over the years, a Chapel, an Observatory, a Bergerie, a Magnanerie and a Moulin were built around the Bastide.

Acquired in 2017 by Skywalker Retreats, it has been lovingly restored. Immersed in lush green gardens, the Main House features 5 suites and 4 bedrooms, a comfortable library with a vast selection of multilingual titles covering History, Arts and Cinema. Wine and dine on one of the terraces or in the gracious dining room with a large fireplace enjoying family-style meals or a French Gastronomique menu prepared by the Estate chefs. Feel at home as you relish the relaxing atmosphere, elegant architecture and bucolic natural beauty of Château Margüi.

The Bastide (5 suites; 4 bedrooms)

First floor

Suite 1: Master Bedroom with Emperor bed, large sitting room, dressing room, bathroom with shower and bathtub. Overlooking the main tree-lined avenue and vineyards.

Bedroom 2: Can be used as a family apartment with Suite 1 (Emperor bed can be twinned). Bathroom with bathtub and open less-able shower. Views of the forest behind the Bastide.

Suite 3: Emperor bedroom with separate sitting room, bathroom with shower and bathtub. Overlooking the greenery of the tree-lined avenue.

Bedroom 4: Emperor bedroom with sitting room area, bathroom with shower and bathtub. Views to the Magnanerie and vineyards.

Bedroom 5: Emperor bedroom with sitting room area, bathroom with shower and bathtub. Overlooking the orchard on the east side of the Bastide. Shared terrace and garden with Suite 7.

Bedroom 6: Shared entrance, can be used as a family apartment with Suite 7. Smaller bedroom ideal for children (Emperor bed can be twinned). Ensuite shower and sink, with the WC across the corridor. View over the pergola on the main terrace.

Suite 7: Shared entrance with bedroom 6. Separate sitting room with terrace and garden joined with Bedroom 5. Emperor bedroom and bathroom with shower and bathtub.

Second floor

Suite 8: Emperor bedroom with separate sitting room and a small outside terrace. Bathroom with shower and freestanding bathtub. Overlooking the vineyards.

Suite 9: Emperor bedroom with separate sitting room. Bathroom with shower and bathtub. Spectacular views overlooking the swimming pool, vineyards and the hills of Provence beyond.

The Observatory (1 bedroom triplex apartment)

The Moulin (3 suites; 1 duplex suite)

Suite 10: Split-level suite with a separate side entrance.

Ground floor

Sitting room and WC. Staircase to the Emperor bedroom and bathroom with shower, bathtub and WC. Vineyard facing views.

First floor

Suite 11: Emperor bedroom with separate sitting room. Bathroom with shower and freestanding bathtub. Large terrace overlooking the hillside and forest also connects to Suite 12 terrace.

Suite 12: Emperor bedroom with separate sitting room. Bathroom with shower and freestanding bathtub. Terraces overlooking the vineyard and hillside, one is connected to Suite 12 terrace. (Bed can be twinned.)

Second floor

Suite 14: Emperor bedroom with separate sitting room. Bathroom with shower and freestanding bathtub. This Suite benefits from a private terrace and another facing the vineyard.

The Bergerie (1 duplex suite; 3 bedrooms)

Suite 15: Split-level Suite with ground floor sitting room, terrace and WC. Staircase to the bathroom with shower, bathtub, separate WC and Emperor bedroom with stunning views over the hills of Provence.

Bedrooms  16 , 17 and 18: Individual

Ground floor

Emperor bedrooms each with a separate entrance and private terraces with an amazing view towards the hills of Provence. All three bedrooms have a sitting room area and bathroom with shower and bathtub. (Bedrooms 17 & 18 can be twinned).

The Bastide is the first house to rent. Others can be added according to guest occupancy.

Rates are based on Saturday to Saturday occupancy.
