Overview

A few kilometers from Maussane-les-Alpilles, at the end of a small road we discover a hamlet: a set of peaceful  dwellings organized around the bread oven that once existed. A pretty stone building immediately stands out. La Bastide Paisible is there, facing nature, like an old stately home,  with its large glass arches opening onto a magnificent garden that blends into the wilderness. The verticality of the cypresses contrasts with the basins and the water surface of the overflow pool, which draws a horizon line with the rows of olive trees in perspective, planted at the foot of the hill.

Waking up in the heart of authentic Provence, only overlooking nature, which has never seemed so poetic to you. The master bedroom of 70 sqm offers you this breathtaking view of the Alpilles park like a living fresco, each day different but always soothing. The water curls under a light breeze and the first rays of the sun create silver reflections. It is the magic of the moment. We would like to suspend time to enjoy it longer.

When the architect owners discovered this place, abandoned in time, they wished to give a soul to this house while respecting its natural environment. This bastide was to rediscover the richness of its past, while taking advantage of its extraordinary location in the heart of the Alpilles, to make it a leisure residence with exceptional services.

Five large air-conditioned bedrooms with their private bathrooms can comfortably accommodate eight adults. For meals, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area overlooking the large living room, and several terraces and dining areas outside with a large table for twelve people in the shade under the roses.

The interior decoration is in the image of the place, all in harmony and contrasts. Limestone slabs from Les Baux and dark oak parquet floors, joineries and ironwork of antique appearance on the stone facade gilded by the sun. The softness and curves of the upholstered sofas are balanced with the imposing stone fireplace in the living room, while aerial suspensions lighten the ceilings with exposed beams and joists, with a preserved rustic appearance. On the walls, coatings in clay, sand, lime, vegetable pigments and curtains in natural materials of Pierre Frey, De la Cuena or Elitis to dress the windows.
