Set amidst the Topa Topa Mountains in the mystical Ojai Valley, the iconic AAA Five-Diamond Ojai Valley Inn debuts a new design of its iconic villa, Casa Elar. The estate is spread across 220 acres of lush, oak and olive trees scented with wild sage and lavender. The recently renovated 31,000 sq ft Spa Ojai; a working artist studio and apothecary; a historic, George C. Thomas-designed golf course; apiary; multiple pools and more than five dining concepts including signature restaurant Olivella, the sole restaurant between Los Angeles and Northern California to hold both the Forbes Four Star and AAA Four-Diamond designations, are just some of the highlights of this incredible destination.
Originally built in 2006 by the hotel’s owners as a private residence, Casa Elar has evolved into a popular destination for family reunions, intimate weddings, and celebrity escapes. The 10,147-sq ft villa’s new design was dreamt up collaboratively between hotel ownership and Interior Designer Natalie Konstant, reflecting a bright, airy, and modern version of the Tuscan-style villa with classic California style touches. The 44,000-sq ft compound is sprinkled with fruit groves and wild herbs, including olive and lemon trees, alongside aromatic rosemary and lavender.
